I look forward to my exercise sessions every week. Crystal is awesome and has answered all my questions. She has made extra work out sessions available to me for my off days. I feel healthy and strong. I have lost over 20 pounds since beginning Cards. I know that these exercises will be part of my life even after my time with Cards is over. Thank you from the bottom of my now healthy heart. Thankfully, Rita Cherry.

I've been in the program a couple months now and I look forward to these exercise sessions. My therapist, Allysa S. is very supportive, and I feel she really is personally working with to get me back in shape and feeling confident about my progress. Allysa is very tuned in to the issues that affect cardiac post operative people and makes helpful suggestions. Another advantage of this cardio rehab program is that I don't have to drive anywhere 3 mornings a week!

I went into this Carda program in an open-minded, curious, slightly skeptical state of mind. My personal experience has been one of renewed vitality. As a cardiac/pulmonary patient, I find that this program exactly meets my need. I like being able to do at home. I appreciate the way the video coaches urge me to be at my own level. Bravo, Carda, bravo Jordan! Preventative health exercise sure beats the opposite of deteriorating health and inactivity.
When it’s time for a session, you simply tap a button on your iPad. You’ll take your blood pressure and heart rate, then meet with your coach to talk about your progress and share any questions you have. Your coach will start an exercise video that’s been selected to give you just enough of a challenge, without pushing you too hard. You’ll exercise while your coach monitors you by video and tracks your breathing. Your coach can also answer questions or help you modify exercises. After the session, you’ll discuss any other needs you have, including your diet, medication questions or health education. A session can take anywhere from 30-45 minutes.
The program is 36 supervised sessions, with 45 minutes for each. Typically, members participate in sessions 3 times per week, but Carda Health works with you to create a program that works well with your schedule.
Pulmonary rehab can have many health benefits in the short and long term, such as:
• Strengthening your breathing after a major pulmonary event
• Helping to relieve symptoms and breathing issues
• Building healthier habits such as increasing physical activity
• Reducing stress and improving mood
• Improving your breathing for daily activities—from carrying groceries, climbing stairs, or spending time with loved ones
• Lowering your risk of future pulmonary issues
After your pulmonary event, your doctor likely recommended you exercise, make changes to your diet or track your vitals. While these are things you could do on your own, having a structured program tailored to pulmonary health and designed by your dedicated coach may help you stay on track and possibly lead to a longer, healthier life.
Pulmonary rehab will meet you where you are. You may start with seated exercises, while a live coach is always there to monitor you and suggest modifications, if needed. Carda Health coaches regularly check your vitals to make sure you’re exercising safely, and only doing exercises that you feel comfortable doing. Regular exercise may increase the strength of your lungs, making them more efficient at doing their jobs. This will make your day-to-day activities seem easier.
No, your sessions are held over live video sessions with a dedicated personal coach using the Carda Health app, which you access via an iPad sent to you in your Carda Care Package. You won’t need any special equipment to exercise.
Carda Health reviews your progress via the Carda Health app. Your dedicated personal coach, who is a trained clinician, will monitor your heart rate, blood pressure, and blood oxygen, during every session and evolve your program as you make progress.
When you start the program, Carda will pull and review your medical history. We will always notify your doctor that you are enrolled and send regular progress updates. In most cases, we do not have to wait for approval to get started. If we do, Carda will work directly with your doctor to make sure you are participating safely.
Call Carda Health at 866-393-6697 (TTY: 711), Monday – Friday, 6 a.m. – 8 p.m., Eastern time, to enroll. You can also talk to your doctor about how pulmonary rehab may work with your current treatment plan.
